raised in Botha’s Hill in Durban, SBS (real
name Sandile Majola) is arguably Durban’s biggest Hip-Hop export. SBS is a
Hip Hop, RnB and Dance/Electro artist and producer. He began his music in 2009
he has released and produced two mixtapes namely: African Dream (2010) and Hustle
411 (2011). He is currently working towards his first album scheduled to hit
the shelves on the summer of 2014.
The first single from
his forthcoming album CITY OF HOPE will be warming South Africa’s seats this
winter as its music video will be on our TV screens. Shot by Gorilla Films CITY
OF HOPE embodies SBS’ persona and proves that this Durban talent means
business.
Besides being a hip hop artist, SBS is a data collector at
public hospital; a producer; a song writer; an events manager and a community builder
who spends most of his time lending a hand in helping orphans through working
with the Siyabhenga foundation in Durban. Always aiming to master his craft, SBS
also studying sound engineering at
Durban Creative Art College.
SBS’ influences are artists like Prokid; Akon; AKA; L-Tido; Hugh
Masikela; Dr Dre and Maggz. SBS accumulated experience from working with
children and youths from the disadvantaged backgrounds and started writing
about these. This experience resounds in all his songs.
